Yan Tan Tethera

This time last year I was just planning and preparing to head back to the desert for a couple of months to go on a residency with Claire....Now that was super brilliant!
But prior to that trip I had just finished working on a project Cecil Sharp House - the home of the English Folk Dance and Song Society. The project was called Yan Tan Tethera: songs of textile folk.  This was where I made my first large scale wall drawing, and got to work with some folk who make the most forward thinking work in the field of textile art. To say I was stoked to get commissioned to work on the project and with these artists is an understatement.
So a big thank you David Littler, Rachael Matthews, Freddie Robbins, Shane Waltner, Aimee Leonard, Faye McNulty and all the folk at Cecil Sharp House - You guys!!!!!
If you wanna see wall drawing its now permanently housed within the bar at Cecil Sharp House and the embroidery has travelled down to Dorset at Walford Mill Crafts the next leg of its journey. The show opens on 13th June 2015 -  go see it's a brills show!
For now here's a film on the project.
